To create and support an
environment, preventing
loss of life and
property, where people
of our community thrive
and prosper.
Moreover, to prevent
disastrous incidents
from occurring and to
minimize damage to life,
property, and the
environment.
To protect and enhance
the quality of life of
the citizens of North
Providence by preventing
or minimizing the loss
of life and property
threatened by the
hazards of fire,
medical, and rescue
emergencies, hazardous
materials incidents, and
disaster situations in
our community.
Through several
Department programs, the
Fire Department educates
citizens, inspects, and
pre-fire plans, multi
storied high occupancy
buildings, as well as
commercial buildings.
It maintains a high
level of education,
training and
fitness to provide the
best possible emergency
service to the residents
of North Providence. |

The department maintains a comprehensive effort to prevent loss
of life and property from fires through training and innovative
equipment, along with the intensive review of building plans; inspections
and certifications of fire and life safety systems in buildings;
public education programs targeting the young, high rise residents,
and elderly citizens; the regulation of hazardous material storage,
hazardous processes, public assemblies; and the investigation of
arson and other fires.
