applications for the
2010 Sports Hall of
Fame. Qualifications and
applications can be
obtained below.

 The North Providence
Sports Hall of Fame Nominating
Committee has established the
inductee nomination and election
process. Any citizen in the Town of
North Providence has the privilege
of nominating a person/specific
team, living or deceased, who has
brought fame and glory to the Town
of North Providence by his/her/their
athletic accomplishments. The
number of inductees to be elected is
determined bi-annually by the North
Providence Nominating Committee in
consultation with the Mayor of the
Town of North Providence.
Purpose of the North
Providence Sports Hall of Fame:
To recognize members of the North Providence
community who have distinguished
themselves as outstanding
contributors to athletics, and
possibly beyond, by instilling a
continuing commitment to, and the
promotion of, the values and
philosophy of sportsmanship
including fairness, dedication, and
perseverance.
Nominees must exemplify the highest standards of
sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and
moral character.
Qualifications for the North
Providence Sports Hall of Fame
A person may qualify for the
Athletic Hall of Fame by falling
into one or more of the following
categories, including posthumously.
Individuals nominated for selection
to the North Providence Sports Hall
of Fame must have by long
association and/or residency in the
Town of North Providence made:

An
outstanding contribution to the
cause of sports in North
Providence, the State of Rhode
Island, the nation, or the
world.

Have
participated in high school
athletics, having earned a
letter in a particular sport. In
addition, the individual also
may have received all
conference, region, or
all-American honors at the high
school and / or collegiate
level, or has attained a
profession in athletics.
-
Achieved a distinguished record
at a high level in his or her
area of sports endeavor, with
consideration given to
integrity, sportsmanship and
character.
-
Male
or female participants in any
recognized form of sports
competition are eligible for
nomination.
Outstanding Community Service Award
Those who have given meritorious
service to the North Providence
School system and / or community /
recreational athletic programs or
North Providence residents who have
given meritorious service to other
such athletic programs may qualify
for this award.
