Governor Notte
Park Beach
On Wednesday, July 1st, 2009, Governor Notte Park (GNP) beach opens
for the season. Lifeguards are on staff from 10:00AM- 6:00PM. Season
passes may be purchased at the park during the season, or at the
North Providence Pool & Fitness Center during June. Field Permits
for family outings at GNP are issued at the Recreation Office
(located at the North Providence Pool & Fitness Center). Please call
the Recreation office for more information.
Take advantage this summer of our
beautiful park with a freshwater beach. With ample parking, close
proximity and (best of all) no “beach traffic,” Gov. Notte Park is a
wonderful alternative to South County Beaches. This quaint and
peaceful park boasts a ball field, tennis courts, swings for small
children, and a rustic, serene feel that makes you forget that you
are only minutes from the “hustle and bustle” of Mineral Spring
Avenue! Our American Red Cross and State-Certified Lifeguards and
friendly staff are on duty starting July 1st for safe swimming and
paddle boat rentals.
Labor Day Weekend
On Monday, September 7th, 2009, Governor Notte Park beach
closes at 6:00PM for the season.
Pumpkins in the Park

from 6:00-9:00PM, features an evening of Halloween music,
refreshments, and train rides through mazes of spectacular carved
jack-o-lanterns, painted pumpkins, and wonderful Halloween-themed
displays. This is an enjoyable night for the entire family… no
tricks – just treats! Rain date is October 24th.
Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and
Pictures With Santa
This event will be held at North Providence Town Hall on November
29th, 2009 from 4:00-6:00PM. Refreshments will be served as
Santa & Mrs. Claus pose for pictures, and an assortment of Christmas
songs are played.
