Mission Statement:
To serve as the local contact for information, referrals and applications
for general public assistance, food assistance, medical assistance,
housing assistance and other related programs.
It is the duty and responsibility of this office to:
1. Assist individuals in applying for senior and family housing.
2. Seek resources and consult with state, Federal and Community
agencies to find fuel assistance/weatherization affordable housing
and shelter and year round food banks.
3. Organize and administer holiday distributions of baskets and
gifts during the holiday seasons.
4. Seek, write and administer grants for various funding programs
while working with the Rhode Island Department of Human Services
and other local welfare offices.
